The 9th Global Youth Environmental Essay Competition 2025
The winners have been announced. Congratulations!
This year's competition drew over 1,100 students from 22 different countries, and out of these, 61 were selected as awardees.
It was noticeably more difficult this year to pick clear standouts, as many of the submissions were quite similar in both quality and approach. Each essay was impressive in its own way, and we truly appreciate all participants for taking the time to be part of the competition.
<Awardees>
- The evaluation was conducted in four rounds, as previously announced. Judging Process and Criteria <- Clink
- No qualified essays have been submitted by applicants from the districts represented by the U.S. senators or representatives, or there are no applicants from those districts.
- Only the award recipients will receive a separate notification email regarding their award.

We now use ChatGPT comfortably in our daily lives, but it's worth remembering that it was only introduced less than 3 years ago. This shows just how rapidly technology is advancing, and we are adapting to it just as quickly. Without embracing innovation, we risk falling behind in global competition. At the same time, we can't ignore the pressing environmental challenges we face. It's a real dilemma.
But from your essays, it was clear that many of you are aware of this tension and have already started thinking deeply about how we can move forward without contradiction. Though we may not have all the answers yet, the thoughtful reflections you’ve shown are already meaningful steps toward the green future you will shape.
