The winners of the 8th Global Youth Environment Essay Competition 2024 have been announced individually via email.
(Please know that only winners receive the email.)
This year's competition drew over 1,100 students from 41 different countries, and out of these, 55 were selected as winners.
<Winners>
- 15 middle school students, 40 high school students
- 17 attending schools overseas, 38 attending schools in ROK
- No qualified essays have been submitted by applicants from the districts represented by the U.S. senators or representatives, or there are no applicants from those districts.
**About 35% of the submitted essays were disqualified because the applicants (writers) either did not use the competition form or did not submit their essays in MS Word.

Overall, the submitted essays showcased a deep understanding of ESG principles and a clear desire to use the writers (applicants)' professions to tackle climate change. Their writing skills were equally impressive.
Each essay was evaluated rigorously against the established judging criteria outlined in the competition announcement. Furthermore, all submissions underwent a plagiarism check and AI usage using Turnitin, a plagiarism detection tool trusted by top universities globally, including Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and Seoul National University.
